Every so often once every 2or 3 days or twice a day my water pipes start to shutter for a few seconds. I was told it was air in the line. I tried to get it out but it does't last but a few days. The town replaced the water meter 6 weeks ago and it seemed to be worse since than But?? Most of the time earlier I have found the single lever tap in the lower bathroom was off to the side I centred it and it seemed to be O.K. for a time. It has got worse since the water meter?? The lower bathroom seems to have most of the air BUT?? I found air in the basin tape so I shut off the water to the taps but ithe pipe shuttered again. This time I checked the shut off for the toilet and part way the water pipe to the shut off started to shutter it also does it if I play or lift the float ball as it fills. I was told to look for a vertical pipe that takes up the air as yet I didn't find one. The lower bath was put in 2or 3 years after the house was built And I don't know by who??

If you are getting air in the lines I suggest you find out from where. Do you have any crossovers from a compressor? Are your neighbors having this problem?

Are you on city water or a well?
I was told to look for a vertical pipe that takes up the air as yet I didn't find one.That vertical pipe's called a air chamber and its function is to cushion air hammer, we install them in the walls on sink and lavatorie supplies. Where do you live and what's the PSI of the water entering your home? What year was your home built. Has it been remodeled lately? Back to you. Tom
