Hi guys,
I am a newbie to playstations but I want to buy one from Australia with the intention of taking it to India as a gift for my cousin. I asked lot of dealers but none of them seem to have a sure answer. My only question is if I buy the console from Australia will it work in India?? I know India is region 5 and Australia is region 4, both are PAL. I can take the games from here (not an issue), but can someone please help me on this topic?
Thanks in advance,
Jaymin

It should.I snuck my ps2 overseas and it worked. The problem is that I don't know if theplugs in the TV is the same as australia. You should see a ps2 selling in india and see if they have the same plugs as the one from australia

Thanks a lot for the reply. I know that the plugs in ps2's are the same as in australia. Will it give any other problem except for that?

Games may not work? That's the only thing I could think of. I remember when I had playstation inorder to play japanese games I had to have a disk that somehow made the ps recognize it, but this is ps2 and a differ country so who knows.

Thkz heaps bro,
I don't mind about the games as I am going there every year so I can take them and also lot of my friends go there so I can send it through them. If only the console works then its great...
I highly appreciate your help.
