Can I get visitation if I gave up rights?

I was allowed to they said because my son was 14 and knew me all his life and the family was okay with me too. With really young children they use to sometimes say that it confuses the kid, but I think it may depend on circumstances and so forth. How long ago did you give up your rights? They should have told you before you gave up your rights.

When you gave up your rights, was it done in court? Or merely paper work not filed in court

Was it for the other parent to have a new partner adopt, was the child adopted by a new partner.

Normally, and I am glad the other person was able to see the child, but normally when you give up rights, that is what you give up, visits, that is the only real right you have if you are not the custody parent.

If no one adopted the child, have you these last years been paying your child support, since giving up rights does not automatically stop your owing child support.

California law is more liberal than TN, so you may have better luck trying to file for visits there.

Also without court actoin will the other parent just allow you to visit the child, have you asked
