Hello,
I would say I have olive color skin, I tan very easily and my tans last for a long time (around a year I'm not lying... or at least it seems they last that long because they don't go away, they might fade but that's it, even when I don't get much sun). Anyway, 4 years ago during the summer I when outside and tanned a lot, and whenever I went outside I never wore sunglasses, hats or sun screen etc.

So after all this sun exposure I ended up getting too much sun and some of the pigment under my left eye got burnt and now the skin there is much fairer, it turns even more white when I go out in the sun (or seems that way) and seems really white because everything else is getting tanned. My mom said I lost the pigment there and there is nothing I can do about it.

I still have nice olive skin, even though I don't get much sun anymore (and yes the white spot around my eye is still pretty much unnoticible right now) but it would be nice being able to go and tan or to be able to go outside without worrying that I'll end up looking like a dog that has a spot around it's eye.

Is there anything I can do so the skin heals and so that I can get nice tans again (without this white spot around my eye)?

From your description, it sounds like Tinea versicolor. Tinea versicolor is a skin condition caused by a fungal infection distinguished by lighter or darker spots on the skin. The effected areas can prevent the skin from tanning and create white spots. This condition is temporary and not serious. It is recommend that you use a dandruff shampoo, Selsun shampoo, topical creams or oral antifungal medications to treat this condition. You will need to spread a layer of one of these treatments on the affected areas over night. It may take several months for your normal color to return. Please consult with a dermatologist for more information and treatment options.
