It is possible the 3 year old is more resourceful at supplementing its diet. It is also possible not everybody in the family is with the plan. How much have you been feeding? Even the regular Purina isn't as concentrated as some other chows. I laugh at the people that insist on feeding highly concentrated chows and then throw in a can of beans to fill the dog up. I think most Labs would lose weight on 4-5 cups a day of the Purina light. If not, feed less. Some dogs are much more efficient in their use of food. . To get her down to breeding weight, my friend used to only give her one Lab one cup a day of Pro Plan.
