I live in the state of Mo. I have a garnishment/hold on my checking account. I am trying to figure out if they can take my child support that is directly deposited into my account. Would anyone know how true that is?

Yes, Once something goes into the account they can attach it.

I would think that child support would be exempt from garnishment. Notify your bank that you're having child support direct deposited into your account.

I believe any monies going into your acct will be subject to garnishment.
You could have your child support be re-directed. Also, you could open
A new acct and it would be unlikely the garnishment would catch up with
The new acct. As an IRS employee, usually child support and soc security
Was exempt from garnishment.
