Can someone please help me compare and contrast (pros and cons) of epicureanism and stoicism? I am having trouble finding an answer to put on paper!
Thanks:confused:

I won't even begin to compare and contrast this very interesting concept to you, which comes from the ancient greek. You will have to do some reading and I suggest you Google 'epicureanism vs. stoic' and find out how you can put it in your own words. Interesting reading and not heavy at all. So go for it ~~!

I agree with the above. Also, have you read the rules concerning homework help on this site? They are listed on the following link.

Sorry to assume I could get help on this site. I was not asking for you to do my homework for me, I was asking for an opinion of what you thought the contrasts and comparisons were. And yes I did read the homework RULES and I thought I had worded my question so not to be asking for someone to do my homework for me. And by the way I have done some LIGHT reading on the topic and I have jotted down some pros and cons I just wanted to see if someone could add a little more insight to the subject.

I do apologize to you. I did not mean to totally agree with the first answer that you were given. If you are looking for help here, you will get it.

If you already have some ideas as to how to answer your question, then how about jotting down on this thread some of the pros and cons, and why you think they are such, that you already have noted by the light reading that you have done? That would be keeping within the rules for getting homework help on this site.

It's hard for us to add anything unless we can see what you have already come up with in trying to solve the question yourself.

Also, if you take the time to read the information that is on the links in the following searches, like tickle has already suggested you do by performing the searches yourself, I bet you will find quite a bit of information that you can use in making your comparisons between epicureanism and stoicism.
