Hi, I purchased a Canon ip3300 printer with the intention of installing it twice on the same PC - once with default settings for standard A4 Portrait documents and once for A5 landscape documents that I frequently run.

Sadly, when I set the printing preferences in WinXP Start > Printers & Faxes, whichever printer is not the default forgets it's paper size and orientation - though it remembers it's print quality and paper source settings!

Thinking it was a conflict between the 2 because they are sharing the same printer, I moved to plan 'B': I set up my old Lexmark Z640 to do the standard jobs, leaving the new Canon specifically to do the A5 ones. I have exactly the same problem.

I don't want to have to change settings every time I print because almost every set of documents I produce requires both output sizes.

Any help / suggestions you can offer would be appreciated.

Each printer's software may allow you to store different profiles for each printer. I believe that the same is true for the Windows drivers.

I may not be being very clear in my question. To clarify, I have put up a webpage with screen-shots etc at www.snorkerz.com/printers.mht
