A month or so ago I posted a question about my well. The water was cutting on an off and the well was not keeping up.

Week and a half ago the breaker for the well kept tripping. It was a 20 amp two pole breaker. The plumber who helped me put the new submersible pump and new wiring and new preasure switch in, told me to put in a 30amp.

After putting in the new breaker the water has run without a problem for a week. The lights in the house even dimmed a lot less with the bigger breaker in.

This morning while taking a shower, the lights in the whole house flickered really bad, then the water cut off and I haven't been able to get water since. The breaker is fine, but the pump is not working.

Have I burnt up a pump in less than a month?

Thanks for any help you can give. I'm about tired of this problem, and I'm ready for it to go away for good, or at least a few years.

The lights dimming a lot less is not because of a larger breaker, but due to a loose connection somewhere in the system, and can be in the panel, main breaker , meter, or at the utility cable connections, even out at the transformer.

Sounds like one hot leg is out and not letting 240 volts at the pump, you can test this with a volt meter.

Check the tabs the breakers plug onto. And every wire connection.

Opening the meter, and panel require a pro, and the utility to check the meter and all their connections.
