My Canon mp600 all in one has started sending Error 6000 messages 9 times out of 10. I have gone through the mantenance program in the manual - at least three times, (it states that the rollers will wear if done too often), and made sure that all the inks are full, no paper jammed etc. I have even tried heavy photo paper which was better, but not perfect. The rollers still clunk, and on the odd occasion when it prints, it is gappy, smudged and creased. I have also tried a new pack of paper in case the quality was inferior. Good machine until now. Can you advise please?

How old is the printer? Have you checked with Canon?
The avergae life span of an inkjet is 3-5 years. So if you got 3 years of use out of it, you got your money's worth and time to replace it.

The front panel was open on my MP600 and had been hit by the a recliner. There is a sensor on that front door that detects that it is open. I had to take the front door off, reach in the slot on the left side of the opening, slide the sensor back up, and reinstall the door while holding the sensor up. Error 6000 went away!!

I kicked mine, then flipped the flap right in front of the ink cartriages repeatedly and reset the printer while I was doing it and the error went away. I'm going to hope this keeps working until I run out of ink and just buy a new printer.
