Here in the midwest we have had the unpleasant experience {yet again this year!} of a fairly severe ice storm. My question is how can I safely remove that ice from my cedar wheelchair ramp? I've been stuck in the house for 2 days now! I'm afraid to use salt on it, is there anything you can recommend?
Thanks,
Jane

Hogan, our weather does have it downside and 3 weeks of below freezing temps along with sleet and rain have made a mess. Most wood decks will not like sodium or calcium chloride so don't go there unless you find yourself in an emergency. Tomorrow, Wed. is supposed to get above freezing for the first time in weeks so this may be your only chance. Can someone assist you in getting your garden hose connected to your outside spigot? Running spigot temp water that's usually around 50 degrees will melt that ice if you hit it long enough. The above freezing temps will allow the ramp to dry out before it refreezes later in the evening. Wish I could run over and give you a hand.
