I want to keep this short and simple.

A doctors office (plaintiff) and I were still negotiating a final total and payment agreement regarding a past due bill since there were some issues regarding my insurance provider. The same bill was also being handled by a lawfirm (forwarded by a debt collection agency who was unaware that the doctor and I were negotiating). I received a summons by a lawfirm regarding the same bill and so I quickly made my first payment with the doctors office that same day.

I responded to the summons with a answer and now we are the point of answering interrogatories.

Making the first payment the same day as the summons... is that an issue? Or a plus?

I hope someone response quick as I am very anxious.

IF you and the doctor have reached an agreement, then all other legal activies should stop. If you have reached an agreement and have it in writing, they can't continue to sue you now.

I appreciate your prompt response. It's a relief... but it is still stressful until this issue is not resolved with the courts.

An attorney has sent a letter to the doctors office claiming "Abusive Litigation" since we have come to a new conclusion and a litigation suit is also in process.
