Hello,
First off thank you for taking the time to read this and help me. Let me start at the beginning. I'm 28 years old and the past 7 years I have accumulated about $30,000 of debt in the form of credit cards and student loans. Everything has gone into collections and one of the credit cards has a judgement on it. I basically stopped paying attention to the letters to pay from the creditors about 3 years ago because I was immature and scared to do something about it so I kept throwing the letters out pretending they didn't exist; but they did. Now I want to face the music and pay all this crap off and am in dire need of some sound advice and help. Let me break this down so you can better understand my idiotic mess...
Student Loan 1 $4,100 have not made a payment in at least 3 years
Student Loan 2 $2,600 have not made a payment in at least 3 years
CC 1 (1st Fin.Bank) $2,003 have not made a payment in at least 4 years
CC 2 $2,200 have not made a payment in at least 4 years
CC 3 $ 474 have not made a payment in at least 5 years
CC 4 $ 500 have not made a payment in at least 5 years
*CC 5 $8,500 have not made a payment in at least 4 years
CC 6 $7,000 have not made a payment in at least 4 years
Last Semester College $2,150 have not made a payment in at least 3 years
T-mobile $ 28 have not made a payment in at least 2 years
2005 Income tax $6,000 Have not made a payment in at least 2 years
Total--------------------$35,555
*CC 5 has a judgement on it from 2 years ago and they freezed my checking account.
Everything else has gone to collection agencies.
I would really like to know what is the best way that I can tackle all this debt and pay it off in full in the cheapest manner. I know I can negotiate the CC debt but I don't know if I can do that with everything else.
I really hope someone out there can help me out. I would really appreciate it!
Thank you in advance for taking the time out of your life to help...
All the best,
Steve
