Hopefully someone can help me here! The heating returns are in the floor in each room in our home. In my daughter's room, I need to either put her bed up against a vent or put a video stand which is open, there. I plan on putting either one at least one foot from the wall.

Will this block the heat from coming into the room? I say it will rise up and still come through but I am in a discussion about this with my boyfriend and he insists that "nothing" can be close to the vent at all.

It will block the heat from heating the room as good as it should. In the winter if I have to I put the headboard against the wall and have the rest basically in the middle of the room rather than having the side against the wall.
