My murray ridding mower had a blade dissengage swith that had broken off its mount. So I taped the switch in so it would start, but this only worked till tape gave loose. I cut wires and wired both yellows together and both blacks together, and the extra black that jumped off it went to nothing so I just removed it. Also the seat safety switch is bypassed. Now it turns over but gets no spark to spark plug. I also replaced coil with new one I had from a different mower. What is the problem? Did I not wire it correctly, black to black and yellow to yellow? Why is coil not producing spark? I set gap between flywheel and coil using a piece of paper! Coil might not be same for model but should produce spark... correct?

Sorry, but I don't get into bypassing safety switches. They are designed to specifically protect you.

Normally I wouldn't bypass safety switches but I'm trying to prove that the motor is good and cutting deck works to a potential buyer for parts. The seat is broken off its mount and the blade disengage switch broke off its mount also. I just want to prove that that motor runs and deck cuts so he can use the parts or make one work out of the parts from two mowers.
