If you get a good attorney, go into court looking like a whiped pup who is so sorry for it all, you may get probation again, You get a judge who is tired, just had his wife leave him and had the previous suspect curse him out, you could get 6 months in jail.

Also the amount you stole will make a difference also. Was it a 3000 dollar TV or a 20 cent piece of candy.

Also where it happens, if you are in Baxley GA and the store owner is the judges cousin, you may be in boot camp or a month in jail, if you are in Fulton County (atlatna) where you will be in court with all sorts of levels of criminals that day, you most likely will get a lot less punishment since the jails are too over crowded with those doing violent crimes
