How do I connect my computer to a television to show downloaded videos on the TV

Depends on computer outputs and TV inputs. Many new TV's have DB 9, and many computers have DB 9. There is also RCA , svideo, I think all others.
They also make USB TV tuners that allow recording external to computer to hard drive,
Or output computer video to external monitor/display
