Is masturbation a sin? Is it a sin to give into lust, if it doesn't involve another person?

Well, since you are asking about sin. Then I would have to say YES. In today's society masturbation is an accepted practice, but in GOD'S eyes it is a sin. To masturbate you are either looking at pornography or thinking about someone of the opposite gender. Both are considered a sin in GOD'S eyes.

Oh brother. Perhaps you need to ask this on a religious area of amhd.

Masturbation is good for you, and in a trusting relationship, healthy.

OK this is on the sex board not the religion, I have considered moving it, but will only if the poster wants it moved.

It is a common thing that I would guess 99.9999 of all men do.

It can become a addiction and can get out of control also. So as with any activity, it can be good and bad.

I will address the religious part on the religion board, not this board.

Masturbation is self-pleasuring. It is not a sin; it is one way a woman finds out about the depths of her sexual response... learns how her body works.

May people are disabled or old and unable to find a sexual partner... there is no reason why they should give up pleasure, no reason at all. Sexual release is good for the mind, spirit and body.

Many people are not married, and there is no good reason to go out and have casual sex. Masturbation is a good way to get sexual release.

Studies have shown that men who do not ejaculate regularly over their lifetime have a *much higher instance* of prostate cancer. I think that a daily ejaculation is a must for a man, and during his life, he might not always have a wife or ladyfriend.

But, just like excess interest in religion, being consumed in masturbation is not good for your mental health.
