What is involved in making a balance sheet, and how do you set a balance sheet up?

I like to do my balancing of my finances on the computer. The program that I use is Quicken. Now as far as how to set up the balance sheet, that would depend on what type of business it is about which you are inquiring. For instance a sales type business will have a much different type of balance sheet than say a small business that provides some type of repair or maintenance service for people.
