I Know the directions say not to but what happens if purple primer was used on ABS at glue up. Will there be a problem with the fittings:eek:

It's hard to say -- You certainly didn't do yourself any favors by contaminating the ABS glue with the primer.
For peace of mind, I'd isolate the new plumbing from the old and put it under hydro-static test with a ten foot column of water.

Growlers correct. Follow his advice. Primer's one function is to rewmove the glaze from the pipe and allow the two pieces to weld together when glued, The same result can be achieved withj sand cloth. However, Oatey makes a all purpose primer.
