My 23 yr old son was killed recently and his insurance company sent me a check for $10000. It is made payable to the "estate of ..." how do I open a bank account for this check ?

Get a EIN number for the estate, go to the bank and show them a death certificate, the EIN number and open a bank account basically.
Will this be a large esate, bills to pay, other money coming in
