We have an electrical outlet on our front porch that faults and turns off every time it rains. When we reset it, it only comes back on for about a second. We usually have to wait until the rain stops completely for it to not fault (it can be pouring rain, a light mist or even fog). FYI - this was installed when the house was built and has been a problem since we moved in.

Do you think it's a bad outlet?

Thank you!

I think now it needs to be replaced. I think the weatherproof plate is allowing water into the outlet or box getting the outlet or wires wet.

If there are wires connected to the LOAD terminals, then there is the possibility of that portion of the circuit is tripping outlet.
