Hello,
I have a suggestion. Some people do eat a lot but still do not put on weight. It just happens. But it is important to keep yourself healthy by having healthy food.So I would personally suggest this. All the best.Take care.

I don't suggest gaining weight by adding on fat. My suggestion is to try toning your body with muscle. It would take a bit of work, and going to the gym, but it is well worth it.

Try a high-protein diet ; lean meats, nuts, dairy products, protein shakes, etc. Also follow mjl's suggestion about exercising.

Eat 5-6 small meals per day, two snacks per day and a weight gain drink (Boost Plus) per day. That's what my doc put me on.

Eat omega 3 fatty acid sources like Tuna in water, salmon, flax and walnuts. As well as poultry, fish and lean meats, just larger portions then normal. Also Peanut butter omelets, whole grain cereals, rice, pasta, granola, bagels, and cornbread. Try veggies like avocados, olives, potatoes, peas, corn, squash. Fruits like canned fruit in syrup fruit nectar, and dried fruit. Use protein powder, and nutritional supplements like ensure, carnation instant breakfast drink, and drink these with each meal. Use multi vitamins and minerals each day. When cooking add milk instead of water to cereals, soups, sauces, mix cooked chop meat, wheat germ, nuts, beans, or cheese to casseroles, pasta, and side dishes, add at least 300-500 calories to your normal intake. Also good for weight gain is honey and jam, soy protein powder. Eat 3 large meals and 2-3 large snacks.
