Hi, I'm trying to figure out the following:
The Rheem-Vulcan electrical water heater had a faulty thermostat (part number:051308,
50-70 degrees). I bought the replacement (direct match not available), part number:1317216, 60-75 degrees. The problem is in the fact that the original thermostat's terminals have different letters on it: Active, Neutral and Earth. However the new one has 1L,3L,4L and SP and I don't know where to connect the wires. Anybody can help? Thanks in advance.
Best Regards, Vince

Check with the place that supplied you with the part. You just might have the wrong part. Also ask the if they have a wiring diagram for the new part. Most manufactures when they change a part will also include a diagram for it.
