I have the worst dandruf in the world. I have tried all the over-the-counter stuff. Why do I have it and how do I cure it?

This may not work for everyone, but it does work for my husband.
He uses the Head & Shoulders Medicated shampoo used to treat Psoriasis and other things (its in a blue bottle) about 2-3 times a week. Since Head & Shoulders can be very drying to the scalp, he uses a moisturizing shampoo (for dry hair) on the days he's not using Head & Shoulders.
Like I said, it may not work for everyone, but it does work for him. He has tried everything and this is all that works.
You can also try seeing a dermatologist and find out what he can do. :)

We had a really dry year here a while back and I got dandruff for the first time. My hairdresser told me to use Neutrogena's Tar Shampoo AND to use an over-the-counter liquid formula. I can't remember it's name but near the dandruff shampoo they sell medicated liquid that comes in bottle with a squirt top. The squirt stuff worked like a charm when the shampoos had been failing. If the double-hit fails I think you're stuck looking for a dermatologist or primary care doc - maybe it's not dandruff??
Good luck!
