This am, I woke up and pushed the POWER button on my 1997 Sony Trinitron PIP Television and it did not come on and it has not powered-up yet (10:00 pm). This old television is very heavy and large. Do you have any suggestions of things to try to power-up the TV? Are there any reset buttons or sequence of buttons that I can try? It is hard to believe that I was watching the TV before I fell asleep and it doesn't work 8 hours later. Please help me!

Are you certain that the outlet is still live?
If it is, try unplugging the TV from the outlet. Then plugging the Tv in again, and immediatelly hit the POWER button. Try also repeatedly cycling the POWER button on and off quickly. This may clean the contacts, if they've corroded or gotten stuck.
