OK have tried everything on this page How to edit the Boot.ini file in Windows XP (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;289022)

To get rid of this problem and nothing worked. I don't even care about the files left behind I just want to get rid of the option with out having to reformat my HD because I have already activated my windows xp. And I heard it is a real pain to reformat after because of that.

Help me.

I am not a computer expert but try this

Start -> run->msconfig

Go to boot.ini tab and choose your windows version and select tab "set as a default"

If it didn't work, you can minimize your timeout seconds till you get the right solution

Hope this help
