I can't seem to remember much of any thing of my childhood. Why is that? Well I'm am 25 now. I can say I only remember a few memories. Not much at all but its not only my childhood, anything from last year I can't seem to recall either but I was in a 8year relationship that went very bad. But that's as much of that as I remember.

How old are you and what is the earliest age you can remember?

I had a Psych professor who said that the "ego" will protect one's self from harm by suppressing painful memories. Now I do not know if this is your case and I would not attempt to bring you through that. That is for a psychologist/psychiatrist done in a private session(s).

Not knowing your history or your family, I would say you should do a couple of things. First, go to your primary physician and get a complete physical. Explain what is going on and make sure that you are not suffering from any type of illness that your primary physician can address. Second, ask your physician to refer you to a mental health professional. Once you have explained your situation and the concern you have about it, your doctor will know the kind of professional you need to see.

I have had to see a psychologist to work through suppressed memories of my childhood. Things I never knew happened at all but they certainly affected my current life (at the time). While I am not saying this is THE answer for you, it could AN answer.

You know stress causes the body to adapt and it also causes the inner working of your mind to adapt - to survive as best they can. Hope you get some real help. Good luck.

Thank you for your response. I realize you are new here, but it's not a good idea to go in and edit your post, it just causes a lot of confusion. You see, your original question did not have your age or earliest memory. I asked that of you and you edited. Makes it look like I did not read the whole post.

Rather, if you would, please continue to scroll down the page until you get to the Answer this Question box and type your reply in there.

Now, to further my answer, I have to agree with Shy above. You should first get a complete physical to rule out any physical anomalies, and then maybe get yourself into some therapy.
