Hey I know I haven't been on here in a while but I have few questions. Back in September I found out I am pregnant. Well the past few weeks I have been running a fever and having really BAD headaches. I went to the doctor this past Wednesday about the fevers and they could not find any infection. They tested me for mono, flu, any type of urinary infection, and strep throat. They all came back negative. My temperature usually runs 97.6 to 98.6, but the last few weeks it has been running (at times) anywhere from 99.9 to 101.1. Does anyone know what could cause this? And also for the really bad headaches I have taken tylenol and sudafed (thinking it was sinuses), and neither one has helped that much. My question on this is would it be okay if I took one excedrin migraine if the tylenol doesn't help when I get one of the really bad headches?

I have two thought off the top of my head.

1. How are your teeth and gums? Did the physician check your mouth for infection? A person can run a low grade infection from this.

2. Were you checked for diabetes? You could be running a low grade infection that your body is not able to fight due to this condition. Perhaps, you have developed gestational diabetes.

Best Wishes!

See the thing is that I have a sugar tester already. I have had problems witth my sugar going crazy before I ever found out I was pregnant. I have been keeping a check on my sugar levels and it has stayed within the range the doctor told me it should be in. And no they didn't check my mouth for any infection either. I have a dentist appointment for the
December 5th anyway. I guess I need to say something to my OB doctor Wednesday when I have a work in appointment about whether I should see if the dentist can get me in before then though. I called them today and told them that I was still having really bad headaches and running a low grade fever and they are working me in so they can check some things and to do an ultrasound. I should be able to find out what the baby is then and plus they will I guess check to make sure everything is okay since I have been having the problems I have had.

I think that after you have your teeth cleaned and attended to your health will improve... and your low grade fever will clear up. :) Often, you can be prescribed an antibiotic before the dental work so the teeth cleaning and dental work which potentially can release infection... will not spread the infection. I'm glad to hear you are taking good care of yourself while you are pregnant. Diabetes is a tough disease, but you sound like you are handling it pretty well.

Best wishes to you and your family.
