My six year old female daschund has started limping. She limps with her left rear leg. The vet could not treat her. What could be the cause?

I don't understand about the vet not being able to treat her. Dogs limp for many reasons. It may be something that will clear up on its own, or the vet should see. See how she is tomorrow.
