I have a new home that requires me to change my maytag dryer connection from 3wire to 4wire. How do I know where to connect the red, black, white and green wire on the 3 wire ends of my maytag dryer LDE8604ACL model.

On Welcome to the Parts Store (http://www3.sears.com) there is a wiring diagram for your unit. I can't quite read the colors or wire numbers, but there seems to be a terminal strip with the labels L1, L2 and N. On "N", it, shows a connection to a ground strap.

The ground strap needs to be removed from the terminal "N".

L1 - Black
L2 - Red
N - White
Ground - Green. This would be the other end of the ground strap. It would be connected to the case of the washer.

If L1 and L2 are reversed, it's OK. L2 only has one wire, so it's red.

Place red on one side, black on other side, white in the middle and the ground to case. Remove the strap from the center (neutral)
