Hello, my husband and I are both on SS disability. He was able to go to work two days a week under their ticket to work program.

I need to know the following. If he incurs a debt, can they garnish his wages if he makes only $144 a week? I know they can't touch his social security, but if only makes $144 a week, can they really attach his wages and how much will they attach?

Thanks much.
Mel

You should contact a lawyer.

If you can't afford one, legal aid offers attornies services for free.

Maybe I am wrong but I thought that this message board was for questions and answers. My husband is not being sued. I just wanted the information.

Can they attach the wages of someone on social security disability who makes $144.00 a week?

Somebody out there has to know.

Can you advise? Thanks, liz

See, I knew there were people out there who knew the answers. You guys are amazing. Now some of you say 15% and some say 24% and I believe one of you said it depends on the state.

Is there a phone number, or a web address (or maybe someone here can help me a bit further). I live in New York City.

So what's the percentage that they can garnish a wage of $144.00 per week.

Imagine. You work two days and they can garnish your wages.
Doesn't even pay to work does it?

Thanks guys.
