What can I do to stop my videos, dvd movies and blogs from skipping and stuttering.
I am running Vista Basic on a Toshiba A135 S4666.
Windows media Player 11.0
InterVideo WinDVD for TOSHIBA
Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5
Adobe Reader 8
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks... Glenda:D

I'm not sure what you mean by "blogs skip" -- blogs don't skip -- I'm assuming you mean videos embedded in blogs skip?
This fix has worked for many people: Go to control panels/sound. Under speakers/headphones check the box to disable all enhancements.
You might also try another media player like VLC:
VLC media player for Windows (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html)

OK, I tried your suggestion. Cannot find speakers/headphones to disable all enhancements. It only gives me the option to adjust system volume, change system sounds and manage audio devices.

I looked up your laptop model, and it has an Intel built-in graphics card soldered to the motherboard. This card uses system RAM and I'd suspect this as one potential source of your program, since it means the graphics card is competing with your PC's processor for RAM access. The other potential source is the software - Windows Media Player. Try using VLC instead for non-DVD videos, and the following for DVDs:
PowerDVD (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/PowerDVD)
WinDVD (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/WinDVD)
Both can be downloaded for trial, and if one works without skipping you can purchase a license.
If a software solution doesn't help, you unfortunately can't upgrade the graphics card since it's soldered on, but you can install more RAM. You might try upgrading to 2Gb of RAM to see if it helps (it certainly can't hurt, and RAM's pretty cheap these days).
