I tried to update driver for dvdrw 2016IM mecer through Welcome to Liveupdate (http://www.drvupdate.com). Now the drive is jammed, it won't open and the green light stays on.:(

Best policy. If it isn't broke, don't fixit. Some drivers may create either more problems or add a problem when you had none. Just like when a system is designed. Before, lets say Dell, puts a system together with different hardware, software and drivers to run the hardware all these have to be tested to see if all will work together without a glitch. That is why you have tech support, so when you call they have issues listed and have either have a new fix or they remove updates all together. What I am saying is revert system back to right before you updated or use XP feature and reverse your driver back to original or go to hardware or new driver webpage and look up issues and fixes.
