Hello,
I will be 35 in 7 days, but I have got chicken pox since last week. Now, my face is full of chicken pox scars, and there are still some scabs on my body--legs, arms, torso, neck. How do I get rid of my scars, especially those on the face? Anyone have any idea? Please help.

There are many scar ointments, lotions and creams it is hard to know what ones really work
I would say ones that say they are specifically for scars and contain ingredients like flaxseed oil, vitamin E, tea tree oil and CoQ10 would be your best bet.
I have heard that colloidal silver cream works for skin problems too

Nothing will ever "get rid of" scars... these things that were listed above help to fade scars to the most natural skin tone possible. And as far as scabbing, I would try some neosporin and a clean bandaid for a few hours, and then let it air out. Good luck.

I have to say Vitamin E oil or even Bio Oil really do help reduce the appearance of marks and scars. Be patient though. And you'll see it's worth it.

Something that no one else mentioned is cocoa butter. It's cheap. You can find it in any store that has a lotion section. It smells great. And does help to reduce the appearance of scars.

Some chicken pox may leave permanent scars if the lesions are infected from scratching and picking. Normal chicken pox can leave temporary discolorations on the skin which takes 3-12 months to fade. Vitamin E creams may help fade the scars slightly. If the scars are prominent and won't fade away, you may need to have them surgically removed by laser surgery.

Time will heal and vitamin e is very important. Pure vitamin e being applied to the scars. There is no guarantee but this is the best vitamin that works wonders. Remember to be patient and it takes times. Also seek out medical advice if you want it.

Cocoa butter will not fade chicken pox scars, but it help soften appearance of them. Applying creams containing Vitamin E may somewhat reduce the scars. Remember that chicken pox can leave permanent scars, and no natural remedy can get rid of them. The only effective way to remove chicken pox scars is by laser treatment.

How come no one ever recommended pure vitamin E to me? Will it work on older scars? Where would I purchase this?

It is recommended that you use Vitamin E to treat scars. However, Vitamin E may fade the scars just a little bit or not even work at all. Some scars tend to fade over time, but never go away entirely, especially old scars. The use of bleaching creams may help fade scars. Alpha hydroxy creams can also help improve the appearance of scars. You will find these at a store or pharmacy in the skin care section.

I was just thinking that right before I read that

The thing is, my scars are already white, and since I tan they stand out more when they are lighter. When you said fade, I was under the impression you meant fade away not fade in color.

I thought your scars were dark. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do to get rid of white scars. You can try using make up such as Dermablend... which is designed to camouflage skin imperfections.

I figured there was nothing that could be done. I don't want to spend two hours in the morning every morning putting make up on my scars. I have learned to live with them. And so have the people that I love, so that is all that matters. But thank you for the advice.

And you're good at it. Continue with the good work! Like I told the young lady with the stretch marks (I like to call them "stretchies"), imperctions such as these are what make us who we are and what make us beautiful. My scars signify my survival. It's long story. But scars are stories that your body hold. It's nothing to ashamed of.
You, PrettyLady, are a wonderful person and a significant part of this site. Thanks for all the help, advice, and loving/encouraging words!
