Can an inmate in a state correctional institution file a tax return?
If so what information would they use being they do not receive a W2/1099?

My husband owes child support arears and his refund gets intercepted and this is the first year I will be filing since we are married. Is there a way I can file so that my refund does not get intersepted? Also I have not yet changed my maiden name how would that affect filing?

The easiest way is for you to file as Married Filing Separately.

You can also file jointly and submit Form 8379 as an Injured Spouse to get your share of the refund.

His share of the refund will still go towards the back child support.
