I have a 5 month puppy. Corgy, lab alstrailain shepard mix. i.ve had him sense he was 8 weeks old. When I got him they had him eating purina puppy chow which I know isn't very good so I switched to the costco brand. Which is actually really good and cheap. i.ve been feeding him twice a day because he's still growing. But he still looks sooo skinny. No matter how much I feed him, he's still hungry. I think he might have worms now. If so how can you tell he has them? And what's the best way to treat it?

There are different types of worms. The best thing is to take the dog and a stool sample to the vet. Let the vet determine the problem and the best remedy. You should have your puppy on a heartworm remedy such as Heartgard+. It controls other common types of worms too. The vet should do a heartworm test too.

Ask the vet about the dog's weight. Some dogs want to keep themselves on the thin side. Let well enough alone. Fat little butterballs may be cute, but lean is healthy. Your dog definitely should be narrower at the waist than the hips and chest. You should be able to easily feel the ribs, but not see them. Each dog is
Different. Standard recommendations are a good place to start, but each dog
Must have its food adjusted to its individual needs. Here is a link to a good illustrated guide, LongLiveYourDog.com - Life Span Study - Rate Your Dog (http://www.longliveyourdog.com/twoplus/RateYourDog.aspx)

Well go to the vet about the worms thing. And if your feeding him a lot and he still looks skinny it could be the kind of breed of dog your pup is. But definitely go to the vet if your really concerned.
