Hi, my name is Marcus. I'm 20 years old, and live at home with my mother and my freeloading brother. Here is the situation. My mother is in debt, and she doesn't make enough money to pay the bills, and pay off her debt at the same time, and goes 400 dollars deeper each month. That's after I took over the electric, gas, water, and phone bills. I've tried to tell my brother over and over that mom needs help, but he doesn't do anything, he's 27 years old. Now am I suppose to give her the 400 dollars that she needs a month, which will start breaking my bank? I want him out of the house, because all he does is eat, sleep, and mess up the bathroom, literally. He can't even clean the house so my mother could come home to a clean house after work. My mother's not pushing him, and she won't push him... what could I do? I don't want to move out and leave my mom high and dry. But when he's just watching her and enjoying freedom while she struggles and cries, I want either him out or me out.

If she won't do anything, the choice is yours. Your brother is doing what she allows him too, and you are doing what she allows you to. You probably need to move out on your own. She will either sink or swim. Meaning she will either tell him to get a job or she will sink further into the whole.
