Hey guys, its been a while since I posted on here. OK, I found out about a couple months ago that I have PCOS and I have been taking METFORMIN to help regulate my cycle. I believe I have been taking the medication since August. My periods, I believe still have not been regular, the last time my period started was sept. 30 and it ended oct 4th. I have not had my period since then and me and my husband are still actively trying to get pregnant. Well about 2-3days ago, after intercourse, I went to the bathroom and noticed when I wiped that there was a light brown/pinkish color on the tissue. I thought that my period was on its way, but it didn't come. Now today I go the bathroom and the same thing is on the tissue. I have also been experiencing cramping and nauseousness ( but I feel that the sickness feeling might have something to do with the meds). I have no idea what to think, I hope that I am pregnant but I also don't want to get my hopes up. Can you guys please give me your thoughts

Giving us time would be nice too. You see, we are not "employees" here, we do this on our own free time. We do not get paid for answering questions. I was studying for a nursing test I have on Monday when I saw your question just now, and any of the other girls that may know the answer to your question have children and families to attend to.

Now, you are taking Metformin for PCOS? This medication is actually for diabetes, but is being studied for PCOS. Have you had your hormone levels checked? Go you have high levels of insulin? (this is a possible cause of PCOS) If indeed it is metformin you are taking then these are side effects except for the cramping.

Pregnancy symptoms can be the same as menstrual symptoms, so we can't honestly tell you one way or the other. Only a doctor can truly give you a definitive answer.

I am sorry if you took it the wrong way, I was in no way rushing anyone so please don't lash out on me about how busy you are. Thanks for your answer anyway

Please understand that it can take up to a day or more to get answers sometimes. One of our other Pregnancy Experts is busy with a set of one year old twins, the other is a mother of a toddler and a newborn.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding also. We just have people that come on here and think that we are employed by the site and when they don't get an answer in a minute or two they get very... well... anxious for lack of a better word. ;)

Since you are on a plan of action with your doctor, really the only thing you can do is follow up with them to see if you are pregnant. Meds can effect your cycle and symptoms so it will be hard to tell.

I am on Prometrium to regulate my cycles (I don't have periods on my own, unless they are medically induced), and I take Clomid to make me ovulate. When it is time for my period, I don't know if I have missed it because I am pregnant, or just because I haven't had the Prometrium yet. Also Clomid has many side effects, so I don't know if they could be pregnancy symptoms or side effects from the meds.

So I always have to wait 35 days from when the Prometrium made me start, then go in for blood work to see if I'm pregnant.

So really the only thing I can suggest is following up with your doctor.

Good luck :)

Well I did go to the gyn, and she was not very pleasant. She told me I have nothing to be concerned about and that it should be on its way. She did take a look down there and said that she can see some spotting. And I'm not pregnant. I don't feel assured by the way she was talking to me so I will be going somewhere else next month
