I don't spend a lot of money on haircuts. I usually pay $30 for a haircut/style and shampoo. How much should I tip? The salon isn't really fancy, but my stylist always does an awesome job. What is a good tip for a $30 haircut? Thanks for your advice! I appreciate it!

Hello peggy:

$5. That's just a little over 15%.

Yes, I would agree the 5 bucks would be about right ( but a lot more than I personally tip for a hair cut but then mine are for 5 bucks on the senior rate

I was going to rate your answer and say thanks Fr_Chuck, but it won't let me give you reputation right now. So, thanks for your answer! I

No problem, I have my rating system turned off anyway. But thank you.
That AARP card is a real money savings, that senoir coffee at Hardees, cheaper haircuts, at least growing old has some benefits

I would tip $15 but this is coming form a girl with curly hair and its hard to find a good stylist that enjoys curly hair. So I tip $15.

$5 or $6 is good; if she does a good job and you are a frequent and repeat customer that would be more than fair. Remember at holiday time to leave a little extra if you are a regular!

My regular place is $45 for a cut... the same girl does mine every time. I usually tip $15. Last Christmas I tipped her $20 and gave her a $10 starbucks girft card. (I bought ten of them to give to family and friends).

Your very generous.

I agree that approximately 15 percent should be given.

$15 for a $45 cut is generous, but I have to say, when you find someone who does a good job, you want to make sure they know it. I've been going to the same stylist for nearly 10years and I now travel over an hour to see her and pay much more than I care to admit... it's my one indulgence, and it's totally worth it! :)
