What taxes can you expect to pay if you live in New Jersey and work in New York?

Tax returns need to be filed for BOTH NY and NJ.
You will pay NY state taxes on income earned within NY state.
You will FILE a NJ tax return, but, due to the credit NJ gives to NY state taxes paid, you should owe NOTHING to NJ for the NY-based income.
