My 90 civic hatch w/ 1.5 eng feels like something is holding it back while accelerating ,once it gets to a higher RPM it takes off and stays smooth running. It feels like bad gas or misfire when this happens. I have changed fuel filter and checked all vac hoses for leaks

Check/replace spark plugs (NGK only), spark plug wires, rotor, distributor cap, ICM, and coil. AutoZone can check ICM and coil for free.
