It could be a number of things. Are you on birth control of any kind? How old are you? Could you have been exposed to any STDs? Are you taking any medication at all?

I really hate to answer questions with questions, but to try and help you better I need to know these things.

I am 38 years old. Not on any birth control. Have always had regular period of 28-29 day cycle. Don't think I I have STD but never checked. I got married just this April. I am not taking any medication at all. Quite healthy

At age 38 it is possible that you may be starting perimenopause, that throws our cycles totally out of whack. We may get periods almost continuously, then none at all for months. To be certain you should be checked by your health care provider.

I read from the internet that breakthrough bleeding usually occurs when you are taking birth control pills. But I have never taken that. In fact I have avoided any sort of medication through out my life . Thanks for the opinion.

How long ago was your yearly physical? It may be a good idea to go get checked out.
