I'm going nuts to find my birth mother. I found my birth father 2 or 3 months ago. He's still looking for her too and that's been about 25 yrs. I know my birth mother was a drug addict and she's been in prison. Her name is Virginia Lee Phipps. And she lives in tacoma, Washington. I was born April 16, 1982 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. I'm not sure if she was married to my birth father or not. But his name is Dennis Stammer. Someone please help me. If my birth mother don't answer this then what website can I go to to do a free search.

I don't think you can do a free internet search for anyone really, unless it's just Google. Did you try contacting the local courthouse in Tacoma to ask for records or information?

Try adoption.com

While I'm not sure they do actual searches there FOR you, it's a good place to go on record as looking for someone on the other end of an adoption.

They have a registry, and you can see if she's looking for you, and register that you're looking for her, in case she IS looking for you.

Try the courthouse in IA--that's where your birth cerificate would be. If it's a closed adoption, she may have left a note there to be given to you if you go looking. Also see if you can check any adoption agencies in that area--they may have more information for you.
