The coursework topic is :

INVESTIGATE THE VOLUME OF OPEN ENDED TUBES WHICH CAN BE MADE FROM A PIECE OF CARD WITH A FIXED AREA OF 1,200 SQ. CM.

I do not have any idea where or how to start and end my coursework on the above topic.

Can someone please let me before Friday 25 November 2005?

OK I'm not going to do this for you but give you some pointers.

So area of card is 1200, this could be 30x40
so imagine that you roll it up so its 30 long and the 40 then becomes the cylinder circumference.

The circumference = C = Pi times diamater (40 = Pi x d; 40/Pi = d)

Now you have the diamater of the cylinder.
d = 2r (Radius) so d/2 = r

Volume of a cylinder
The volume of a cylinder equals the (area of the base) xheight = Pi r2 h (r2 = Radius SQUARED)

Plug in the numbers and job done
