My fiance and I just got a lease from the landlord after living here for awhile without one. We dont agree on alot of things it has to say, like being able to evict us any time with a 10 day notice regardless of the time of year. What if we choose not to sign?Do we have to sign?We live in PA.

I think a 10 day notice is shorter than the law says in most places...

Either way, if you don't sign the lease, he might try to throw you out, but he sounds like a jerk anyway, so I would move.

What state do you live in? If there is a clause about a 10-day eviction, chances are it's illegal. I don't now of anywhere that allows eviction for no reason that quickly.

You can sign and stay, and if he tries to evict you in that manner fight it out in court, but that's a big hassle. Since the guy is trying to pass off illegal clauses in his lease, I'd move, if I were you. If you stay and DON'T sign, he can legally evict you.

Check out your state's landlord tenant laws and if you really want to stay there try and negotiate with him, but the guy sounds like a slimeball, I wouldn't bother.
