I have a Kenmore washing machine (11020092993) that wasn't spinning. I took it apart and found that the coupler was broken. Before I found the problem I had already taken the 3 bolts out that hold the transmission to the bottom. The transmission dropped about an inch but wouldn't come off the shaft. Now that I'm putting everything back together the transmission will only slide back up the shaft about halfway. I can't get it close enough to start the 3 bolts again.
Is there something that's spring loaded that's now in the way when I try to slide it back on? I tapped on it with a hammer but it went nowhere, just sounded like metal to metal.

Never mind, I got it reinstalled. After flipping the washer over to get a better look, I put it back upright and the transmission slide right on like nothing ever happened.
