Hi, I've been researching a problem with my toilet bowl. There is minimal water in the bottom of it where it used to have quite a bit more. I thought maybe the problem was the tube that allows the water to flow into the bowl. It was stuck into the pipe quite a distance so I pulled it up a little so it's right at the top of the pipe but still no more water coming into the bowl. Once in a while it fills as normal but usually it's just very little water at the bottom of the bowl. Could the tube need replacing? If so where can I pick up a tube? It is a little squeezed for being stuck in the slot in the pipe and I haven't been able to feel any water coming out of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I guess I just don't quite understand how the tube works and what I should be seeing. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

The float actually controls the amount of water entering the tank which in turn determines the eventual filling of the toilet bowl. You can fool around with the bulb on the end to increase or decrease water into the tank I believe. I hope that helps.

So i8f no water's coming out of the little tube that connects onto the white overflow tube you have located your problem. Take the tube oiutta the overflow tube and push the float ball down. If no water comes out then replace the ballcock. Let me show you how to adjust your tank parts. Check the tank water level, it should be at the mark in the tank or 3/8 to 1/2" below the top of the over flow tube. Now look at the flapper, If it has wavey edges on the flat surface, replace it. The linkage between the flapper and the flush lever should have 1/4" play when the tank is filled. Also, check the small tube coming out of the top of the bakkcock and make sure it's connect to and draining into the white overflow tube. If the leak is at the base of the tank there are two brass bolts on both sides of the flapper, if the tank is loose, leaking or wobbly, snug up the bolts. More questions? I'm as close as a click. TOM
