Hi I am new at this and I wanted to ask someone and maybe I can get somewhere.. I Have an oil furnace and it keeps wanting to reset all of the time I can run for about an hour and then blower will come on and then after that it will run for a little (2 min) and then shut off and won't come back on unless I bleed it again... and I bleed it like 5-10 times a day... I had a furnace guy come in and fix it he said I shouldn't have a fuel filter if my tank is outside of my home and which it is and then he took my fuel filter off and now since he did that the furnace has been causing me more problems then ever and my oil guy said he will not fill my tank because of me bleeding it all of the time and it will catch my house of fire. I have 2 small children and I try to hold off from bleeding it so much.. then it gets to chilly in here I live in a trailer so yeah they get cold easy.. please some one help me thank you my real name is Angel:mad: :(

I would have that guy who said he fixed it to return at least that company should provide you with better service

I agree with Jax - you should get better service from a furnace company. I'm worried about the qualifications of the repairman; pulling filters doesn't sound like competent repair. Your fuel supplier is justified in his safety concerns.

In my area we have a Community Action Program (low income assistance) and a non-profit Neighborhood Homeowners agency. The repair folks at both these agencies know qualified oil-fired equipment service companies. You could try there for recommendations. If you live near a major city, there may be an Oil Heat Institute/Association that you can contact for member referrals. I wouldn't recommend continuing to bleed the system on a regular basis.
