I have dark brown to black hair, I just dyed hoping to get a lighter brown. My mistake was that I bought two colours,1) meduim golden brown and2) light brown, then I accidentally used the medium brown colour with the light brown colour releaser. I barely notice a difference. Did switching the colour releasers affect my colour or are they all the same. (they were coded 25V-170 and 25V-134)

I was using Garnier. I have never coloured my hair before, I want it lighter, can I re dye over it this week? Too soon? My hair is pretty health and thick I just want it lighter. Also, should I buy a new kit for the appropriate colour releaser then?

Any help would be great... I'm a novice I know it's sad :o

If you have dark/black hair, applying a light brown hair color on your hair will not make it light brown. In order to go 3-4 shades lighter without the red/orange tones, you will need to pre-lighten your hair to a level that is lighter than the color you want and then apply the desired color. If possible, please get your hair professionally done.
